Post Hospitalization Expenses

Post-hospitalization expenses refer to the medical expenses that a person incurs after being discharged from the hospital following a period of hospitalization. These expenses may include follow-up consultations, medicines, diagnostic tests, and other related expenses that are incurred during the post-hospitalization period.

In the context of health insurance, post-hospitalization expenses may be covered by some health insurance policies, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. The coverage for post-hospitalization expenses may vary from one insurance policy to another, and it's important to read the policy documents carefully to understand the extent of coverage and any limitations or exclusions.

For example, a health insurance policy may cover post-hospitalization expenses up to 60 days after hospitalization, subject to a maximum limit of 10% of the sum insured.

In case of a claim, the policyholder needs to provide the relevant bills and receipts for the post-hospitalization expenses to the insurance company, along with the other required documents. The insurance company will review the claim and reimburse the eligible expenses as per the terms of the policy.
